Barrister Ahamed Ihteyaz Tahmid, Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, is the Managing Partner of Imperial Counsel. He currently serves as an Independent Director and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of Astha Life Insurance Company Limited, a concern of the Army Welfare Trust.

Since December 2023, he has also served as Legal and Financial Advisor to Sena Kalyan Sangstha, advising on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and institutional legal strategy. He previously held the position of Independent Director and Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee at Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Limited (2021–2023), and was formerly a Senior Associate at Legal Edge, where he focused on banking, commercial, and corporate legal matters.

Called to the Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln’s Inn in 2018, Barrister Thamid holds an LLB (Hons) from SOAS, University of London, with a concentration in Company, International, and Constitutional Law. He is also an Associate Member (ACiArb) of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration. A published legal commentator and former president of several student societies at SOAS, he brings together academic depth and strategic legal expertise in advancing good governance, institutional integrity, and legal reform.
